Celebrating 35 Years

Joe Nixon, Carpenter

Joe Nixon began building houses in 2003 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. Since then, his experience in the arts and crafts trade has varied. He has worked with structural steel rigging, welding, timber framing and equipment operation. Although inspired and intrigued by multiple approaches to building, Joe enjoys spending his day on what he considers the “friendlier and local side” of construction, as a residential carpenter at TreHus.

Joe now has more than a decade of experience in residential construction and remodeling, and though he enjoys working on houses of all ages, he particularly enjoys working on older homes.  He says, “I have an affinity for old houses. Whether they were built with integrity or not, they all provide a worthwhile challenge to improve upon.”

Outside of work, you can find Joe found rock climbing, mountain biking or spending time with his partner and two adventurous daughters.
