When David Amundson founded TreHus in 1982, he drew upon the craftsmanship heritage passed down by his boat–building grandfather and great grandfather. That artisan legacy is embedded within today’s TreHus culture and nurtured by David’s commitment to the love of beauty, a desire to share, and an appreciation for those who labor.
At TreHus, David directs the company’s distinctive Design/Build process that brings a seasoned and honest approach to managing every detail of the remodeling project. He continually works to refine the project management system in order to maintain the high quality work that has earned the firm its esteemed reputation. The Master Carpenter System is unique within the industry and one he created years ago to instill professional excellence and personal growth through the sharing of skills from one seasoned carpenter to another. To David, the employees of TreHus are dedicated agents of beauty.
David received a B.A. in Psychology and Speech/Communication from the University of Minnesota. His real education, however, began at age 40 when he started reading Great Books of the Western World. David has completed and taught the NARI Certified Remodeler program.
