Celebrating 37 Years

Ginny Anderson, AIA Architect

Ginny Anderson first became interested in architecture at 13 on a trip to the library. Her sister pulled architecture books from the shelves in hopes of learning a few conversation points to impress her boyfriend but quickly lost interest. Ginny however quickly became impassioned by the photos in the books and decided almost immediately that she would someday be an architect.  She never wavered from that plan.

Ginny received her Bachelor in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1983. She worked in two boutique architectural firms doing residential architecture in Chicago for several years. After a while, she became interested in urban development issues and got a Masters in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  In order to balance family and career, Ginny later opened her own studio out of her family home and designed custom houses, lake cabins, and large renovations for over ten years.

Ginny loves to give back to the community and has been an avid volunteer throughout her adult life.  She spends here weekends being passionate about travel, hot yoga, reading, cooking and eating amazing food.
