Green Addition and Remodel

  • <p>The owners of this 1941 brick colonial home wanted to remodel their home in as ecologically responsible a manner as possible. Existing energy efficient appliances, lights and plumbing fixtures were repurposed throughout the home. Rooms are happily painted with lots of red, yellow, violet and blue, all in low VOC paint. This project included an addition on the back of the home that made room for the expanded kitchen and mudroom on the first floor, and a new master suite and deck on the second floor.</p>

  • <p>A mudroom with custom cabinetry and plenty of coat hangers gives children a place to take off and store muddy boots and jackets.</p>

This kitchen and master suite expansion were done with sustainability in mind. Materials were reused wherever possible, and green materials like recycled glass countertops, cork floors, and low VOC paint were used.
