2014 Chrysalis Award-Winners

  • <p>Winner of 2014 Chrysalis Regional Award – Kitchens &gt; $100,000.  The goal of this project was to build a beautiful kitchen that fits with the style of the grand 1906 home but functions like a modern kitchen.</p>

  • <p>Winner of 2014 Chrysalis Regional Award – Kitchens &gt; $100,000.    This space had been boarded up for years.  TreHus built a cabinet with a passthrough that beautifully matches the existing dining room buffet.</p>
  • <p>Winner of 2014 Chrysalis Regional Award – Interiors &lt; $100,000.</p> <p>The owners of this home desired to update their 1970s-style basement to fit continuously with the midcentury modern aesthetic of the rest of their home. The popcorn ceiling and old carpet were removed, and restructured duct work created an intentional design for the ceiling.  New Peruvian walnut flooring and a new fireplace insert with surrounding stone create a simple, modern look in keeping with the tastes of the homeowners and style of the home.  Details like the bar area and hickory wall paneling (actually flooring put on the wall!) provide them with a customized space that is uniquely their own.</p>

  • <p>Winner of 2014 Chrysalis Regional &amp; National Awards – Interiors &gt; $100,000.</p> <p>Th<span style="color: #3d3e39;">is mudroom was formerly a sunroom, but the active family needed a place to take off shoes and boots, and unload school and work supplies. TreHus carpenters built a custom bench, bookshelf and coat rack on site with beadboard accents to match the new ceiling. Relocating the back door from the kitchen to this room improved the flow of the home and gave this space increased function.</span></p>

TreHus projects won Three 2014 Chrysalis Awards – one for a basement remodel in Edina, one for a kitchen & interior in Tangletown, and one for a kitchen in Lowry Hill. TreHus has won 18 Chrysalis awards since we first entered in 2004, and this is our 8th consecutive year with at least one winner. Many thanks to all of the wonderful people who worked on these projects, and to the owners of these homes!
