Elegance on Summit

  • <p>Such an attractive house deserved an equally beautiful kitchen. The owners of this 1909’s craftsman style home wanted a better functioning kitchen with more natural light and a larger opening to the dining room for their active family.</p>
  • <p>A door leading out to the deck and a new window flanking the range were added to the East wall. New recessed cabinets and stained cabinetry were designed to mimic the existing paneling in the dining room. Venetian plaster and painted corbels adorn the furniture-like hood above the stove, and the beautiful and eye-catching backsplash is New Ravenna stained glass tile. The avid skiers in the family loved that the tile created a pattern similar to slalom tracks in fresh snow. The unique pattern and installation has never been done before, creating a one-of-a-kind kitchen.</p>

  • <p>Added cabinetry for each of the family members and created areas above for added storage.<br /> Patterned porcelain tiles were selected to add warmth and a traditional touch that blended well with the wood floor.</p>
  • <p>A beveled wainscot tile base, chair rail tile, brass hardware/plumbing, and a contrasting blue, embellish the new powder room.</p>
  • <p>The layout in the second-floor bathroom was changed to better accommodate the toilet, tub, and shower. A new vanity was added for more storage and kid delineated space. The crown trim along the vanity wall was part of the existing built in.</p>
  • <p>A Maiolica tiled niche wall in between the bath and toilet was added for shower storage.</p>
